Fry’s Creamy Mushroom vol au vent
1 box Fry’s Chunky Strips
1 pkt Puff pastry
1 tray Button mushrooms (diced)
100ml Fresh cream (or Soya Cream)
Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Fry the Chicken-style strips for 8 to 10 minutes. After 6 minutes toss the diced mushrooms and season. Add the cream and allow to reduce and thicken, set aside and keep warm.
Roll out the pastry and cut out 2 same-sized circles of 3cm. Cut out the centre of the one circle. Brush egg or soya milk on both circles and place the open curcle on top of the full circle. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until cooked and golden brown. Fill the centre with the warm filling. Serve hot.
